Ask The Mayor

Q. - There is a city lake called Terrell
City Lake. but I cannot find any access to it. I stopped and talked to
a homeowner who lives on the property adjoining the lake. He told me only
home owners can fish it. Is there a way that the citizens of Terrell can
get to the lake to fish?
Answer - Until recently the lake served as the City
water supply.
Twenty years ago, the City was having trouble with vandals damaging
the pump station. As a result of that the City decided to sell the surrounding
land to neighboring property owners.
At one time there was a County Road that gave access but it has been
closed by the County.
There is no prohibition of fishing on the lake, but someone wanting
to do so must get permission to cross the land of private land owners.
Boating and camping are not permitted.
Sincerely,
Hal Richards, Mayor
