Q. - I saw recent reports on WFAA-TV Channel 8 News regarding a robbery spree of area convienence stores in Terrell and a recent mugging at the Wal-Mart in the parking lot where a lady had a gun pulled on her, punched in the face and robbed of her purse.

 

My question is how come this is NOT being featured at Terrell Tribune online??? They advised me that the Police Department is slow to releasing information related to this crime spree.

 

Please advise if this a city policy for the TPD not report these robberies to the local paper?

Answer - Each of these crimes, as they happened, were released in the normal daily crime/call for service report we provide to the news media.

 

It took some investigation and time for Terrell Police to solidly confirm a link between the store robberies. Once this was firmly established, Terrell Police
released the video and solicited the community's help in identifying the
suspect.
