Q - With the Trans Texas Corridor gaining some
steam, and with the
help of Lou Dobbs making this a nationally known problem, what is Terrell
doing in order to keep this out of our back yard? It's very obvious
that Gov. Rick Perry is not listening to the citizens of Texas but rather
listening to his bank account get bigger with the help of Guiliani.
What do
the citizens of Terrell need to do to stop this travesty?
Answer - Thanks for your question.
This is more a State of Texas issue than it is a City issue, but I
will be glad to share what I know about the situation.
I think most observers would agree in hindsight that the presentation
of the Trans Texas Corridor concept to Texas Citizens was poorly done.
As a result of the poor presentation it seems that the Trans Texas Corridor
as originally presented is a dead issue.
The challenge for those who oppose the Corridor is to come up with
a plan that will provided the mobility that is needed in Texas, particularly
in that I-35 corridor. Something will have to be done soon to alleviate
the congestion that will only get progressively worse.
Sincerely,
Hal Richards
