The City of Terrell Section 8 Housing Department provides help in paying the rent for very low income families, the elderly, and disabled persons. Under the program, residents portion is based on 30% of their income.

The Section 8 Housing program waiting list is closed and not accepting new applications at this time.

Home Needs Survey

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) is a federal program that provides funds for: 1) homeowners to rehabilitate and/or reconstruct their homes, 2) first time homebuyers for down payment and closing cost, or 3) rent subsidies for person who are participating in a selfsufficiency plan. The City of Terrell is applying for HOME funds, and is asking you to participate by responding to this survey. The survey is designed to determine the needs of individuals potentially interested in participating in this program. If your community receives HOME federal funds, you may be asked to submit an application in the near future. You must qualify and be program eligible to participate.
