Terrell Police Department
Neighborhood Officer Program

The Neighborhood Officer Program is an integral part of the Terrell Police Department’s Community Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS)
philosophy.
Under this program Officers, Investigators and Sergeants
are assigned to specific geographic areas (Quadrants or Neighborhoods)
of the City of Terrell, with the responsibility to enhance the quality
of life for the residents in each area by monitoring conditions conducive
to crime or that adversely effect public safety.
In addition, Officers
monitor crime and repeat problem trends within each area. Officers
are charged with the responsibility to take action to prevent crime and
eliminate
conditions within their assigned areas that adversely affect the safety
and quality of life for our citizens. Seeking to partner with community
members, Officers endeavor to help residents organize to form block
clubs and crime watch groups.
Quadrants

Sergeants and Investigators are assigned to one of four Quadrants of
the City and provide supervision, logistical support, and other assistance
to the neighborhood officers. Each Quadrant is made up of 4 or 5
Neighborhoods. The Quadrants consist of:
- QUAD 1 -NORTHWEST (bounded by Moore Avenue to the South and
Rockwall Avenue/State Street/Poetry Road to the East)
- QUAD 2 - NORTHEAST (bounded by Moore Avenue to the South
and Rockwall Avenue/State Street/Poetry Road to the West)
- QUAD 3 - SOUTHWEST (bounded by Moore Avenue to the North
and Rockwall Avenue/FM 2578 to the East)
- QUAD 4 - SOUTHEAST (bounded by Moore Avenue to the North
and Rockwall Avenue/FM 2578 to the West).
