Q. – I am aware of the new pet registration requirement and I think that it’s a great idea. In order to register your pet, you must register and send a photo and pay online.

I don’t own a computer and can’t do any of these things. I would like to know why isn’t there a physical building, like the Adoption Center, where this process can be completed in person? How are people who don’t own computers supposed to complete the pet registration process? Thank you.

Answer – Thank you for your interest in the Terrell Animal Adoption Center and our new online pet registration.

The pet registration requirement is not new. In fact, the requirement has been in place for well over 10 years. You can register your pet at the Animal Adoption Center located at 2601 E. US80 in Terrell, TX, Monday – Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

What is new is the on-line registration capability for those who choose to use it. It is not mandatory to use the on-line system. We recognize many of our citizens will wish to continue using the traditional customer service option at the shelter.

A third option would be to take advantage of the computers available for use at the Hulsey Public Library to complete the on-line registration. The library is open at the following times:

Monday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Tuesday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Wednesday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Thursday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Friday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Noon – 4:00 pm

We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this for you, as well as others.

Sincerely,

Hal Richards, Mayor
