I notice streets go forever without repairs from pot holes to utility digs that go months with just rock fill in.

Q. – I notice streets go forever without repairs from potholes to utility digs that go months with just rock fill in. Also, assume it is still against the law to park the opposite direction of traffic flow on a street. Why do the police ignore this?

Answer – Thanks for your inquiry.

Our public services staff have instructed personnel to report road or street issues. Those reports, along with those from individuals, are used to create work orders for street repair. If you would like to report a concern personally, you may call the Service Center at 972-551-6614. You may also visit our website, www.cityofterrell.org, go to the Services tab and scroll down to Talk to the City of Terrell (highlighted in red). This will allow you to create work order that will be routed to the appropriate department.

In response to your question regarding wrong-way parking, it is indeed a violation of the law. However, since the TPD is unaware of any documented accidents where a vehicle parked in the wrong direction has been a contributing factor to an accident, TPD officers have been instructed to focus attention to those offenses that more directly impact public safety.

Sincerely,

D. J. Ory, Mayor
