WINGS: Digital Literacy is a free program for adults ages 18 and older. Students must have a library card to participate in this program. To apply for a library card, visit Riter C. Hulsey Public Library at 301 N Rockwall Avenue, Terrell, Texas. Library cards are free to first-time patrons.

HPL has partnered with Northstar Digital Literacy to provide Basic Computer Skills and Professional IT Certifications to our patrons. 

What it is

The Northstar Digital Literacy program is a free self-guided online or in-person set of classes and assessments that show your ability to perform basic computer tasks. You can earn a certificate in each of these areas:

Essential Computer Skills

(Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows, Mac OS)

Essential Software Skills

(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs)

Using Technology in Daily Life

(Social Media, Information Literacy, Supporting K-12 Distance Learning, Career Search Skills, Your Digital Footprint)

How to use it

To get started, You must have an HPL Library card or ecard to enroll

To earn a certificate

For a certificate, each assessment must be taken in a supervised setting. You can take any of the tests at Hulsey Public Library. It is free.
